Whether you work from a downtown Reno office or your home in Incline Village, I bring a simple, mobile lighting setup (and backdrop, if needed) to create clean, professional headshots that reflect your style. I can also help choose a location that best suits your needs for outdoor portraits.

Session length and location as needed to adequately tell your story, anywhere in the greater Reno/Tahoe area. Starting at $450.
About John
I grew up in Lake Tahoe and northern Nevada and couldn’t imagine a better place to return to after ten years in the Air Force.
Documentary storytelling is my photography passion, and I’ve worked with several nonprofits and NGOs throughout the world since 2012.
I incorporate this documentary mindset to also tell your story, whether that’s shadowing you as you participate in your favorite activities, or revealing who you are during a portrait session.
At home and in between documentary trips, I'm a volunteer divemaster for Clean Up The Lake and fly for the Civil Air Patrol. I also teach photography lessons both in-person and online. Favorite activities include backpacking, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing.

Absolutely. I offer in-home and on-location photography. It’s all up to you - I can photograph you in your home, at your office, or at scenic outdoor spots around Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Carson City, and Reno. All I need is a small space, I don’t even need power.

All sessions are scheduled online, but you can always call/email me with questions first.
When you see a date & time that works for you, you may reserve that spot with the deposit, refundable only outside of 24 hours prior to the session. The remainder will be collected at the end of the session. Cash and all major credit cards accepted.
Try to allow some time between the session and your next commitment so you're not feeling rushed - that will show in the photos! As mentioned previously, we're going to take our time so you're looking as natural as possible.

I apologize that I won’t be able to serve your request for these types of photography. I’m currently only offering services for individual portraits. There are countless other photographers in the area who specialize in weddings and families.
